The other cattle tried to warn us, staying far clear of the newcomer, until we had to separate them with a fence.

Lost, we thought she was, and tried to read her weird markings, wondering who to return her to.

We should have heeded our trusty beasts.  Turns out she was neither lost nor cow, and a fence was no deterrent.
