To the Fall

Let innocents bathe in sweet bright spring
And laze forever in luxurious summer
I drink arm in arm with autumn

With full knowledge of impending weather war
We don our fanciest frocks and laugh
Spread our colorful tail feathers in defiance

Come, bleak winter, and wage your worst
You shall not cow us
Our hearts are strong

Inspired by two prompts this time: (1) this week’s Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers — see original photo prompt below, and click here to see the other stories; and (2) and Sammi Cox’s Month of Mini Writing ChallengesDay 3 – Write a poem in less than 10 lines about “autumn”.

    • Thanks Millie — that’s three “lovely/beautiful’s” in a row, I think maybe I’m onto something. 🙂 This isn’t an especially “Eneana” piece; I didn’t link it to a specific culture or religion or belief. But I wanted it to be Eneana-compatible, at least.

    • Thanks Amanda! I worked through the poem in my head while doing my morning walk, and kept repeating that last part to myself to be sure I wouldn’t forget it. Glad it seems to have worked. And hope you have a great weekend too!
